Tornado watch expires in Western Pennsylvania Wednesday

YOU CAN INTERACT WITH THAT ON WTAE.COM. WE’RE ALSO KEEPING TRACK OF THE WEATHER TODAY ON THE SEVERE WEATHER ALERT DAY, METEOROLOGIST BRIAN HUTTON JUNIOR HAS BEEN GETTING US THROUGH ALL AFTERNOON. AND HERE AT 6:00. BRIAN, ONE WORD YOU USE TODAY WAS WAVES OF RAIN AND WIND AND SEVERE WEATHER. WE HAD A LOT OF CALMNESS, BUT I’M HEARING THE RAIN ON OUR ROOF HERE IN WILKINSBURG. YEAH, YEAH. THIS LINE OF SHOWERS AND STORMS MOVING THROUGH NOW IS LIKELY OUR LAST SEVERE THREAT. NOT OUR LAST RAIN, BUT SEVERE THREAT FOR THE DAY. TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8:00 FOR MOST OF WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA, INDIANA, ALLEGHENY, WESTMORELAND, AS WELL AS WASHINGTON, GREENE, FAYETTE, MONONGALIA, PRESTON AND GARRETT COUNTIES. AGAIN, THAT IS UNTIL 8:00. FLOOD WATCH FOR THE SAME COUNTIES EXCEPT PRESTON AND GARRETT GOES UNTIL 10:00, BECAUSE ONCE THE SEVERE THREAT COMES TO AN END, WE STILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH SOME LEFTOVER RAIN SHOWERS. YOU CAN SEE THAT BACK TO OUR WEST. THERE’S STILL RAIN BACK TOWARDS I 77 AND HAS TO ARRIVE. THE GOOD NEWS THOUGH, THESE STORMS ARE ARRIVING NOW KIND OF TURN OVER WHATEVER IS LEFT IN OUR ATMOSPHERE AS FAR AS FUEL IS CONCERNED, AND THAT SHOULD END OUR SEVERE THREAT. IN FACT, THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ALREADY BEEN TRIMMING THE TORNADO WATCH BACK INTO OHIO AND WE’LL SEE THAT TREND LIKELY CONTINUE OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS. SO AGAIN, THIS CLUSTER IS RIGHT OVER TOP THE CITY OF PITTSBURGH. NOW WILKINSBURG IS ON TOP OF MONROEVILLE STRETCHING UP TO PLUM AND PENN HILLS, BACK DOWN THROUGH THE SOUTH HILLS TOWARDS JEFFERSON HILLS, PLEASANT HILLS DOWN TOWARDS WASHINGTON, HEADING TOWARDS FINLEYVILLE AND BENTLEYVILLE, BACK DOWN TOWARDS WAYNESBURG. THIS IS ALL SLIDING EAST. SO AGAIN, WAYNESBORO HERE IN ABOUT TEN MINUTES. INDIANA IN ABOUT A HALF HOUR. LIGONIER IN ABOUT 45 MINUTES. GREENSBURG EXPECT TO SEE THIS RAIN HERE IN ABOUT 20 MINUTES. THERE ARE NO WARNINGS ATTACHED TO THIS, BUT IT IS HEAVY DOWNPOURS, LIGHTNING AND THUNDER AND ALSO SOME GUSTY WINDS AS THIS ARRIVES. AND WIND AND RAIN ARE THE PRIMARY CONCERNS FOR THE NEXT FEW HOURS. AGAIN, WE STILL CAN’T RULE OUT A HAILSTONE AND THE TORNADO THREAT IS VERY LOW, BUT IT IS NOT ZERO. SO WE WILL CONTINUE TO WATCH THAT AS THESE STORMS PUSH EASTWARD ACROSS WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA, THE SEVERE THREAT COMES TO AN END BY 8:00. BUT NOTICE WE STILL HAVE RAIN TO GO BY. 11 WILL LIKELY STILL SEE SOME WIDESPREAD RAIN SHOWERS THAT TAPERS OFF AFTER MIDNIGHT, WITH A COUPLE OF SNOWFLAKES TO END THINGS. AS WE HEAD INTO YOUR THURSDAY MORNING IN THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS, SKIES WILL CLEAR. THEN IN THE MIDDLE PORTION OF THE DAY BEFORE WE BUILD BACK IN SOME PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES LATE IN THE DAY. ON THURSDAY, 42 IS THE BEST WE DO TOMORROW. THAT IS IT. 54 FOR US. ON FRIDAY. THE WIND WILL PICK UP. WINDS WILL GUST TO ABOUT 40MPH. A COUPLE FLURRIES MAY BE POSSIBLE NORTH, OTHERWISE AN ISOLATED SHOWER IS POSSIBLE THROUGH THE DAY, NOT A WASHOUT, BUT A COUPLE OF RAINDROPS WILL BE AROUND. IF YOU’RE MAKING PLANS FOR THE SAINT PATRICK’S DAY PARADE ON SATURDAY, IT’S GOING TO BE A CHILLY ONE. WILL BE ABOUT 37 WHEN THE PARADE STEPS OFF AT 10:00 WILL BE ABOUT 41. AS WE GET TO LUNCHTIME, WE’LL FINISH AT 48. SUNDAY IS GREAT. WE’LL CLIMB TO 66. MONDAY IS AN IMPACT DAY. WE’LL START WITH RAIN TRANSITION TO FLURRIES AS TEMPERATURES DROP. AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE DAY. FLURRIES ON SAINT PATRICK’S DAY TUESDAY AT 32 DEGREES AND THEN TEMPERATURES START WARMING AS WE HEAD INTO NEXT WEEK 39 FOR US ON
