Rangers bench Vincent Trocheck, Sam Carrick as trade deadline nears

Vincent Trocheck had been going about his business as normal despite a longtime leaguewide belief that he will no longer be a Ranger after Friday’s 3 p.m. trade deadline.

Unlike Artemi Panarin, who was told he wouldn’t play in the final three games before the Olympic break and was sent home to pack for his eventual trade to Los Angeles, Trocheck practiced and played as usual.

That was until Thursday night’s game against the Maple Leafs.

Both Trocheck and Sam Carrick were held out of the Rangers lineup for “roster management purposes.”
