Jason Clarke Joins Amazon MGM Thriller (EXCLUSIVE)

EXCLUSIVE: The Clark(e)s are aligning, as Jason Clarke (A House of Dynamite) has inked a deal to join Viola Davis in Ally Clark, a new thriller coming together at Amazon MGM Studios, on which we were first to report last June.

No word yet on the role to be played by Clarke.

Written by Jose Ruisanchez and Irwin Winkler, with Phillip Noyce aboard to direct, Ally Clark takes us from the towering skyscrapers of New York City to the sweltering bayous of Louisiana and the icy peaks of Alaska, following investigator Ally Clark (Davis) as she embarks on a perilous inquiry into an international conglomerate following the suspicious death of a close friend.

Producers include Winkler Films’ Irwin Winkler, Charles Winkler, David Winkler, and Ruisanchez, and JuVee Productions’ Davis and Julius Tennon. JuVee’s Melanie Clark will exec produce alongside Ian Watermeier.

Clarke has been on a tear lately, signing on to star alongside Sydney Sweeney and Noah Centineo in the live-action Gundam movie from Legendary, which will release on Netflix, and booking a role in Tom McCarthy’s starry new climate conference drama for Sony Pictures Classics. Recently wrapping production on F.A.S.T., the Warner Bros. action-thriller penned by Taylor Sheridan, he’s coming off of turns in the Netflix political thriller A House of Dynamite, reteaming with his Zero Dark Thirty director Kathryn Bigelow; Hulu’s limited series Murdaugh: Death in the Family, where he plays convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh; and Apple’s The Last Frontier.

Clarke is repped by Robert Stein Management, CAA, and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman.
